‘I can’t feel anything’: An emotionally distraught Molly Taylor decides to quit SAS Australia after making it all the way to the finale

An emotionally distraught Molly Taylor quit SAS Australia during the show’s highly anticipated finale on Tuesday.

Despite nearing the end of the course, the 32-year-old rally driver decided she couldn’t go any further after enduring a relentless torture and interrogation.

Moments before she announced her decision to quit, the show’s chief instructor Ant Middleton noted that Molly had been ‘clinging on by the skin of her teeth’.

After stumbling through an intense interrogation, Molly was taken back to a holding room, where she began to cry underneath her hood.

‘I can’t feel anything. I can’t stop shivering,’ she sobbed as she was forced down onto her knees.

Finally, a defeated Molly raised her hand and asked to see ‘the umpire’ – the anonymous man overseeing the interrogations – and she was led into another room.

After having her hood removed, Molly broke down in hysterical tears and told ‘the umpire’ she needed ‘a blanket’.

‘I can’t sit in that room anymore,’ she sobbed, before announcing she was withdrawing from the course.

As she continued to shake and cry, Ant, 39, came in and engulfed Molly in a comforting hug.

'Absolutely amazing. You are absolutely brilliant. You're at the end... We've been so proud of you,' he told her

He added: ‘We appreciate who you are, and your smile has been keeping us going as well.’

Ant then took her into the medical room to get her ‘nice and warm’, and she made an emotional video call home.

'I just can't stop shivering. I'm coming home. I was so close, but I don't know. I'm just in so much pain right now, it's unreal,' she told her partner, in between floods of tears

She later added: ‘It’s easy to get overwhelmed by everything that’s happening, and I didn’t appreciate the opportunities I had or push myself to make the most of them.

‘I just got really scared by it all. I learnt a lot about myself. You know, not overthinking things, taking one step at a time, and just proving to yourself that you can do stuff that’s really uncomfortable… This has just taken everything to a whole new level.’
