AC Milan ‘set to confirm £25m signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea in the next 24 hours’ after the defender impressed on loan at Serie A side last season

  • The Italian giants want to convert his successful loan spell into a permanent deal
  • Tomori shone after arriving in January, helping them into the Champions League
  • Milan boss Stefano Pioli has made it clear he wants Tomori to stay at the San Siro

AC Milan are expected to confirm £25million signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea in the next 24 hours.

The Italian giants are keen to convert the young centre back’s successful loan move last season into a permanent deal.

Tomorim 23, shone after arriving in Serie A in the January transfer window, helping Milan to secure a return to the Champions League under manager Stefano Pioli.

Chelsea are set to bring in £25million by selling Fikayo Tomori to AC Milan this summer

It was reported earlier this month that Milan had officially triggered a clause in Tomoro’s loan deal to make the move a permanent one.

He is expected to sign a five-year deal.

The move for Tomori is an unsurprising one, with Pioli making it clear last month that he wanted the English defender to stay at the San Siro.

‘We want to buy Tomori on a permanent deal from Chelsea, our intention is clear and also Fikayo’s decision,’ Pioli said.

The deal will bring to an end a 16-year association with the Blues.

Tomori has been a Chelsea player since joining the academy at under-eight level, before spending loan spells at Brighton, Hull and Derby.

He has made 17 Premier League appearances for the Blues, 15 of which came in the 2019-20 season under Frank Lampard.
