When D’Anthony tried to tell his son he couldn’t do it — he was too big for the equipment — Taj seemed to think his dad just felt scared, and cheered him on with motivational words
‘He loves to climb on things and as soon as he got to the playground climbing wall, he got up there and wanted me up there,’ D’Anthony told Today.
‘I was like, “I am a little too old,”‘ D’Anthony said.
But Taj wasn’t taking no for an answer, and started right away with the encouraging words — so D’Anthony started recording
‘You can do it, Dada! You can do it,’ Taj told him.
‘I can’t. I’m too big,’ his dad answered.
‘You can do it! You put your foot right here,’ Taj said. ‘Climb to me!’
‘I know you can! Come on, you can do it!’ he said.
‘You can do it, Dada! You can do it,’ Taj told him. ‘You can do it! You put your foot right here’
D’Anthony admitted that his son was mimicking the way that he speaks to him, giving him encouragement all the time
Speaking to Today, D’Anthony admitted that his son was mimicking the way that he speaks to him, giving him encouragement all the time.
‘It’s how I talk to him. I’ll say, “Come on, you can do it,”‘ he said. ‘He repeats everything he hears from me. Those lines are exactly what I say to him.’
Later, D’Anthony shared the sweet clip on The Dad Vlog.
‘Taj was really bout to have me tearing up at the park. He didn’t care about any of my excuses. He just believes in me with everything that he has. That’s beautiful. I’m not crying,’ he wrote.
Commenters went wild for the little boy’s attitude, with one writing: ‘This made me emotional. He is so adorable and intelligent, you are doing an AMAZING job.’

D’Anthony told Today that he loves what the video represents.
‘It’s a sense of representation and pride in being a dad, especially for me,’ he said. ‘I like to put these videos in story mode in digestible small pieces that are entertaining so people can absorb the story.’
