Amazing Race Australia contestant and Instagram influencer Amanda Blanks reveals her secret health battle

Amanda Blanks has revealed that she has been struggling with secret health issues while competing on the Amazing Race Australia.

The model and Instagram influencer, 29, has joined her friend, personal trainer Ashleigh Lawrence, 31, and 13 other teams travelling across the country and competing for the $250,000 cash prize.

However it’s not always been easy for the brunette beauty to compete in the fast-paced game as she tackles her food intolerances and ankle injury.

‘I want to get on top of managing my ever-growing food intolerances to dairy and gluten, so I’m not feeling sluggish, sick or bloated, by really looking into the foods I’m putting into my body,’ she told The Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

She added: ‘I would also love to rebuild the strength in my ankle to run the Gold Coast marathon in June without being in pain, and get my body and mind in peak performance for my wedding later this year.’

However, despite her difficulties, she added that she never gives up.

‘No matter how hard something was on the race or is in life, I always keep pushing and trying no matter how much I’m hurting’ Amanda said.

Amanda, who calls herself an ‘adventure lover’ on Instagram, is no stranger to thrill-seeking fun and has shared photos of herself mountain climbing, hiking and boating.

She told The Courier Mail she was excited to discover and experience unseen parts of Australia on the show.

‘It’s such a fun challenge and I love competing, doing challenges and, of course, winning. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that money can’t buy,’ Amanda said.

Ashleigh, who boasts an impressive travel history having visited 73 countries, admitted she hasn’t explored her own country as much.

‘I am always pretending I’m on The Amazing Race when I’ve had to eat something weird or I’m running through an airport tying not to miss a connecting flight – so it will be cool to race for real!’ she said.
