From chocolate to washing up liquid, deli meats and chicken – people were very set with their responses.

‘If it isn’t Cadbury it isn’t coming home with me,’ one woman laughed.

Others said they never buy cheap toilet paper because it ‘doesn’t feel right’ and ‘you have to use heaps more’.

‘Toilet roll, buy any from Aldi or Lidl and it’s like deciding what grade of sandpaper you need,’ one woman said.

‘Coca-Cola all the way thanks and the full sugar version too,’ one woman said.

Many agreed anything Heinz including baked beans and ketchup could not be subbed out for cheaper products.

And cleaning products were high on the list as well.

‘Laundry detergent, as we all have sensitive skin,’ one woman said.

Some people realised they had more things on their list than not.

‘Shoes, make up, clothes, furniture, paint, cleaning products, the list is endless,’ one woman said.

‘Any kind of meat, beans and sauce, mattresses, vacuum cleaners and cat food,’ one woman listed.

‘Pretty much everything with the price of my shopping every week,’ said another.

Others said cheap ice cream wasn’t worth it and many agreed generic brand lollies, coffee and cereal were also ‘rubbish’.

‘Teabags. My other half brought home some homebrand cr*p instead of Yorkshire and I gave him the choice of going back out for proper teabags or sleeping in the shed,’ one woman said.
