Australian singer Amy Shark makes generous offer to actor Tom Hanks amid coronavirus diagnosis

American actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson, both 63, tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday while in Queensland, Australia.

And on Friday, Australian singer Amy Shark made a generous offer to Tom and his wife amid their forced quarantine Down Under.

The Adore hit-maker, 32, offered her $2.25 million lavish waterfront home in Queensland’s coastal town of Broadbeach to the Hollywood couple so they could experience their ‘lockdown’ in comfort.

Amy, an indie pop singer-songwriter and producer, bought the luxury five-bedroom residence in December 2018, just one month after winning three ARIA Awards.

The stunning two-storey property, which Amy purchased with husband Shane Billings, has a pool and private recording studio.

She Tweeted the sweet offer directly at the star, which appeared to be a lighthearted joke amid the actor’s coronavirus scare.

‘Hey @tomhanks I am away but I have a house on the Gold Coast you can borrow for 14 days of isolation. Leave your germs everywhere I don’t care. Netflix n wifi password on kitchen bench,’ Amy said, with a red-heart emoji.

Tom and his wife Rita contracted COVID-19 overseas and brought the virus into Australia, health authorities say, before potentially exposing hundreds of fans they came into contact with.

The Hollywood power couple, who shook hands and posed for selfies with adoring locals across Australia’s east coast, announced their diagnosis on Thursday, just over a week after touching down in Brisbane.

‘Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches,’ Hanks wrote.

‘We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?’

Queensland Health authorities are now scrambling to trace people from Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast who may have been exposed to the virus by the couple.
