She has been tipped to replace Sue Barker on A Question of Sport.

And Alex Scott looked to be in good spirits as she presented The One Show alongside Alex Jones on Friday.

The former professional footballer, 36, looked nothing short of confident as she hosted the show and spoke to guests McFly’s Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Sienna Miller.

Never one to put a foot wrong with fashion, she looked stylish in a navy satin shirt.

The athlete added a pair of black jeans, but dressed the outfit up with a pair of heeled sandals.

Co-host Alex, 43, looked stunning in a red knitted jumper with short balloon sleeves and black court heels.

The pair spoke to guests McFly who were performing an exclusive recording of their song You’re Not Special.

They were joined by bandmates Tom, 35, and Dougie, 33, in the studio, who said they were in a ‘cohort’ which allowed them to sit together.

Fellow band members Danny Jones, 34, and Harry Judd, 35, who sometimes co-presents the show, joined the show over a screen from the recording studio.

Alex then spoke with Sienna who appeared via video chat to talk about her upcoming film The Catcher Was A Spy with Paul Rudd.

Last year, it was revealed Alex had been tipped to replace Sue Barker on the BBC series A Question Of Sport, after impressing BBC bosses during previous appearances on the show.

Sue was axed as of host of the series after 24 years, alongside the team captains Matt Dawson and Phil Tuffnell.

A source claimed Alex being in consideration for the presenting job had ‘nothing to do with gender, nor is it a case of the BBC trying to be woke’.

The insider told The Sun that Alex was being ‘lined up’ as Sue’s replacement because of her sporting knowledge and experience.

Alex had previously guest-starred on A Question Of Sport twice, with one occasion broadcast in November 2016.

During her athletic career, Alex represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics and was awarded an MBE in 2016.
