‘I would get up at 2am, drag an exercise bike into the laundry, turn all the dryers on and sweat for hours,’ she wrote about her gruelling workout regime in a column for News Corp.

The day before the final weigh in, the-then 23-year-old country girl said she refused to drink water amid fears she’d gain some extra kilos.

During a routine medical check up, Falkiner said a doctor had told her she wasn’t allowed to train that night or he would put her on a saline drip.

‘I burst into tears and begged not to be put on a drip because in my head a saline drip added an extra kilo and every kilo counted.

‘I told the doctor I needed to do one more sweat session before weigh in and he said if I did that he would force me to go to hospital.’

Refusing to follow his instructions, Falkiner said she ‘snuck’ into the sauna for an hour at the hotel she was staying at.

‘It’s horrifying thinking about what I put my body through to get to where I did,’ she said.
