Bindi Irwin vows to give ‘everyone my opinion’ after spending the holidays making gingerbread houses

She’s not known for being controversial, but Bindi Irwin has warned she isn’t planning on holding anything back in 2020.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 21-year-old wildlife conservationist shared a photo of herself making gingerbread houses.

The smiling star was dressed in a festive sweater, reading: ‘Instead of gifts, I’m giving everyone my opinion’.

But hinting the jumper may not have simply been a joke for the holidays, Bindi quipped it may be her ‘New Year’s resolution’. 

She captioned the photo: ‘Christmas sweater or New Year’s resolution?’

And fans were supportive of Bindi speaking her mind in the New Year, offering words of encouragement in the comments section.

‘Oh… def [sic] new year’s resolution,’ commented one follower, while another added, ‘I vote both!’

Bindi spent Boxing Day making gingerbread houses with her fiancé Chandler Powell and brother Robert Irwin.

All three stars took to their respective Instagram accounts to share photos and videos of their creations.

‘Did a bit of Christmas construction this morning! Check out our gingerbread village!’ Chandler, 23, wrote.

Added Robert, 16: ‘Making gingerbread houses and rocking ugly Christmas sweaters! My favourite kind of Christmas. #MerryChristmas from the Irwins!!’

Just a day earlier on Christmas Day, both Bindi and Chandler shared a series of cuddly photos of themselves dressed in complementary Christmas sweaters.

‘All smiles because I’m in love with you, it’s Christmas and my sweater lights up…’ Bindi captioned the photos.

Chandler couldn’t resist adding a mushy comment of his own: ‘And you light up my world’.

Meanwhile, the former professional wakeboarder posted one of the photos to his own Instagram, including a quote from the movie Elf. 

‘I planned out our whole day: First, we’ll make snow angels for two hours, and then we’ll go ice skating, and then we’ll eat a whole roll of Toll-House cookie dough as fast as we can, and then to finish, we’ll snuggle,’ he wrote.

His post prompted Bindi to respond, ‘This caption and this photo,’ adding a love heart emoji.

In the lead-up to Christmas, Bindi spent time with her American fiancé and his family in Florida, with Chandler calling it ‘always fun’ to celebrate at home.
