A 17-year-old boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being shot near a north London tube station.

Specialist gun crime officers are now investigating the shooting, which happened at around 11.13pm last night in Green Lanes, north London, near the entrance to Turnpike Lane station.

The Metropolitan Police said in a statement: ‘We were called to Green Lanes, N15 at 23:13hrs to a report of a teenager shot.

‘A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound, he is in a life-threatening condition.

‘Officers from Trident are investigating. No arrests.

‘A Section 60 has been implemented across all of #Haringey borough until 06:00hrs on Thursday, 5 December.’
