‘We have been able to ascertain that the persons involved are known to each other, and that police will continue to investigate these persons and try and obtain the evidence necessary to bring a prosecution,’ Det Sen Sgt Blyth told reporters.

‘We do not have a specific location at this stage.’

However, police believe the gunshot wound was inflicted by another person known to the victim.

‘A gunshot wound to the chest is extremely dangerous … I don’t believe this is a random incident.

‘I believe the associates involved in this investigation are known to each other, and I don’t believe there’s any concern, so they’re members of the public.’

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
