Bride demands bridesmaids spend $2k EACH on wedding activities and forces them to wear painful shoes

Is this the worst bridezilla ever? Bride demands her bridesmaids spend $2,000 EACH on wedding activities and forces them to wear matching painful shoes under their maxi dresses

  • A beleaguered bridesmaid revealed the many demands of her ‘bridezilla’ friend
  • She expected the bridal party to take a four-day Bachelorette at a cost of $1,000
  • Coupled with dresses and hotel, the wedding will cost each bridesmaid $2,000
  • The bride insisted bridesmaids wear matching shoes despite being painful
  • Groom’s divorced parents aren’t allowed to bring new partners to the wedding

A bridesmaid has revealed the dizzying demands of her ‘bridezilla’ friend after becoming disillusioned with her diva behaviour.

Writing anonymously in an Australian wedding group on Facebook, the bridesmaid shared the long list of requests laid down by the bride, including insisting friends throw her a ‘surprise’ bridal shower and demanding money for makeup up front.

She expected her 12 bridesmaids to take a four-day Bachelorette trip across Australia at a cost of more than $1,000 per person, and continues to insist the entire bridal party wear the same narrow fit heels, despite many having broad feet.

Her groom’s divorced parents are forbidden from taking their new partners after they failed to cover the cost of the wedding, while every bridesmaid is ‘obliged’ to stay in the hotel the night before to ensure nobody arrived late.

The revelation prompted others to question why she agreed to be part of the wedding in the first place, while one woman wondered: ‘Why haven’t all of you just dropped out?’

‘I got a scathing phone call a few months back where she quite literally screamed, “You better start planning my f***ing shower! My wedding is in seven months!’ the bridesmaid wrote.

‘The groom’s parents are divorced and remarried and she is not allowing his parents to bring their spouses to the wedding, because [they] didn’t help with the cost of the wedding. She’s having 200 people, it’s by no means family only,’ she added.

When 10 of the 12 bridesmaids said they couldn’t afford her request of a four-day, $1,000 Bachelorette trip, the bride called each woman personally to say they were ‘ruining her wedding’.

‘All in all, hotel and Bachelorette trip included, it costs $2,000 each to do everything she wants,’ she finished.

The post received hundreds of comments, with many urging the bridesmaids to pull out of the wedding.

‘She wants a wedding, not a marriage. She’s going to realise none of the rage and stress she caused was worth it afterwards when no one wants to be friends with her,’ one man said.

‘I would drop out. No way I’m paying $2,000 to be in someone’s wedding. A real person and true friend should never expect or ask for that,’ a woman said.

Another joked: ‘With friends like that, who needs enemies?’
