Members of the public were advised to avoid a major street in the Brisbane CBD on Wednesday morning due to a police operation.

Queensland police closed Charlotte Street between Edward and Albert Streets in the CBD due to a ‘police incident’ mid-morning.

The details of what has caused the street closure are not as yet known but paramedics including critical care were believed to be on the scene.

Police initially advised there was no immediate risk to members of the public.
