Caitlyn Jenner ‘would support Donald Trump if he runs in 2024’

Caitlyn Jenner has revealed she would support Donald Trump if he runs for President again in 2024.

Jenner, who is running for governor of California, said she would back Trump because she does ‘not like what’s happening in this country right now’.

The former reality television star would not say whether she thought the former President should run again and said it was his decision.

Jenner, is who aiming to replace Democrat Gavin Newsom in Sacramento as a Republican, said she would support Trump if she became the governor.

When asked by Jeanine Pirro on Fox News’ ‘Justice with Judge Jeanine’ whether Trump should run again, Jenner said: ‘That’s his decision.’

‘Would you support him if he did?’ Pirro asked.

‘If I was governor of the state of California, obviously I would support him,’ Jenner said.

When asked whether she would still back Trump if she didn’t win the seat, Kenner said: ‘Yes. I still would support him.

‘I do not like what’s happening in this country right now.’

Jenner’s comments come just days after she insisted that her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in Australia will not interfere with her bid for California governor.

Jenner took to Twitter to defend her trip Down Under on Friday afternoon after reports emerged that she arrived in Sydney earlier that week, just two months before California’s election to recall Governor Gavin Newsom on September 14.

‘My campaign team is in full operation as am I. I am in this race to win for California, because it is worth fighting for,’ the 71-year-old reality star wrote.

While Channel Seven, which broadcasts Australia’s Big Brother franchise hasn’t commented on the casting, her salary is believed to be at least $500,000 ASD ($372,500 USD), as this was the fee offered to another high-profile American celebrity, The Advertiser reported.

Jenner was last pictured in the US on Tuesday when she visited her local Starbucks in Malibu ahead of a busy day of meetings for her gubernatorial campaign.

Jenner told Pirro during her Fox News interview that she is ‘not like a lot of Republicans’ and praised Trump for his economic policies.

‘We always put everyone in a box, like you’re white, you’re black, you’re Republican you’re Democrat,’ Jenner said. ‘If you’re a Republican you must think this way, you must think this and that – you know Republican ideas.

‘And that’s not me. I’m an inclusive Republican because I have conservative economic values.

‘I mean, if you have less taxes, less regulation, and pro-business environment then it works. It works every time throughout history.

‘For Ronald Reagan it worked. For Donald Trump for the first three years rocked it. I mean it worked, even for all he was going through. It always works.’

Jenner continued: ‘But on the social side, I’m not like a lot of Republicans. I’m an inclusive Republican. I’m in it for the people. I’m inclusive for all. I think the number 1 thing that the Republican party needs to do is to change the image.’

Jenner’s comments come just a month after she refused to say that Trump lost the recent election and instead praised the ex-president as a ‘disrupter’ while appearing on ABC’s The View.

One of the daytime talk show’s co-hosts, Joy Behar, asked Jenner if she would acknowledge that President Joe Biden defeated Trump this past November.

Behar said: ‘You say that you’re a Republican, and I’m just wondering because a lot of Republicans in this country believe that Donald Trump won the election and not Joe Biden.

‘Are you one of those people, one of those Republicans?’

Jenner refused to answer the question, stating that she’s ‘not going to get into that’ because the ‘election is over with.’

‘I think Donald Trump did do some good things,’ Jenner says in the segment.

‘What I liked about Donald Trump is that he was a disrupter.’

Behar then repeated her question, saying: ‘But did he win? Did he win the election?’

Jenner replied: ‘He was a disrupter when he was president. I want to do the same thing.

‘I want to go in and be a thoughtful disrupter in Sacramento.’

She added: ‘We need to change the system. I want to change that system for the positive.

‘I’m in it for the people.’

Earlier this spring, Jenner announced her candidacy for governor as Republicans spearhead an effort to recall Newsom.

The 71-year-old Jenner won the men’s Olympic decathlon in 1976 and decades later became a reality TV star and transgender woman.

Her candidacy and her embrace of Republican politics as well as her support for Trump has sparked anger among the LGBTQ community.

With the Olympics more than four decades behind her, she’s probably best known these days for reality TV shows, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and the spin-off I Am Cait.

Jenner made headlines in recent years with her ties to Trump, who lost to Biden in the state by over 5 million votes.
