High-end fashion brand Chanel has released a ‘playful’ new bag that fashion bloggers are predicting could be the latest fashion craze this summer.
The lambskin side-packs, which come in a variety of colours and sizes, feature two bags which are connected by straps and joined in the middle with the brand’s signature logo.
The £5,350 product comes in bold yellow or red and is also on offer in a more neutral option of white or beige.
A larger version of the side-packs, which were seen on Chanel’s Spring Summer tropical beach inspired runway show at the Grand Palais in Paris, are available in classic black or white and have the steeper price tag of £6,800.

Handbag blogger Linh Trang was one of the first to praise Chanel’s newest creation and said that it could be the start of a new trend.
The fashionista noted how Chanel has been responsible for a number of recent crazes, such as making the backpack ‘cool’ again and giving the waist bag a moment in the spotlight.
‘Chanel feels like Apple after the year 1997, when Steve Jobs was the captain of the ship,’ she explained.
‘Every new release came with something innovative and cool; the competitors were always chasing.’

The blogger commended the unusual bag for its multiple ways of being carried and for giving fashionistas more space to carry essential items.
She explained how users could use each strap on one shoulder as if it were a backpack or carry it on the front with a bag on each hip.
As there’s two packs the weight is more evenly spread making it comfortable to wear and giving a similar feel to a backpack.

Other handbag fans have also praised Chanel’s Side-Packs online, with many saying they ‘love it.’
One woman wrote ‘sooo love these side packs! Too cute for summer,’ while another commented: ‘This Chanel side pack bag that keeps rolling down my timeline got my pockets burning. I love it.’
However, a third person wasn’t so convinced on first look and penned: ‘I am just now finding out about the Chanel side-pack and um uh wow I definitely have thoughts.’
Meanwhile, another claimed having two places to put things would only add to her daily confusion.
She tweeted: ‘I have a hard enough time finding things in ONE purse, now I have to remember which purse to look in?’
The side-pack bag also comes in denim (£4760) and in either a black and white or yellow and white combination for £3,710.
