Full list of chocolates and Easter eggs urgently recalled from Australian supermarkets over fears contamination could make kids sick
- More Kinder Ferrero chocolate products were added to a contamination recall
- Last Thursday several chocolates – including Easter products – were recalled
- On Saturday more chocolate products were added, just one day out from Easter
- Products were sold at major retailers, independent grocers, and petrol stations
More Kinder chocolates have been pulled from supermarket shelves and recalled due to fears of contamination.
Several Kinder products from Ferrero Australia were recalled last week by Food Standards Australia and on Saturday even more items were added to the list.
They include Easter eggs and other festive treats that could be infected with Salmonella and make children sick to the point of vomiting if eaten.
The chocolates were sold at Coles, Woolworths, Target, Kmart, Big W, and independent shops including IGA and petrol stations, as well as online.
On Saturday Food Standards Australia recalled more Kinder chocolates products following last Thursday’s recall
The batch numbers for the newly recalled items are:
- Kinder Easter Basket 120g (6x20g): 19300698000619
- Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut: 100g: 19300698020242; 270g; 9300698503618; 750g: 9300698503618
- Kinder Surprise Maxi (Miraculous) 100g: 19300698018591
- Kinder Surprise Maxi (Natoons) 100g: 19300698016528
- Kinder Surprise Xmas Maxi (Disney Frozen 2021) 100g: 9300698502246
- Kinder Surprise Xmas Maxi (2021) 100g: 9300698501935
- Kinder Maxi Xmas Mix with Plush (2021) 133g: 9300698504004
- Kinder Xmas Happy Moments Ballotin (2021) 190g: 9300698503960
The recalled Kinder Ferrero products included several Easter chocolate varieties, including the Kinder Easter Basket
The original recalled products are:
- Kinder Easter Basket 120g (6x20g) – best before dates from 7/10/22 up to and including 20/11/22
- Kinder Mini Eggs Hazelnut 100g – best before dates from 23/8/22 up to and including 13/9/22
- Kinder Surprise Maxi 100g – best before dates from 23/8/22 up to and including 13/9/22
- Kinder Surprise Maxi – Natoons 100g – best before dates from 23/8/22 up to and including 13/9/22
The chocolates were sold at Coles, Woolworths, Target, Kmart, Big W, and independent food retailers including IGA and petrol stations as well as online
FSA has said the Kinder Surprise 20g eggs sold in single and three-packs in white, blue, and pink as well as other Ferrero products were not part of the contamination recall.
‘The recall is due to potential microbial (Salmonella) contamination,’ the FSA wrote.
‘Food products contaminated with Salmonella may cause illness if consumed.
‘Consumers should not eat this product and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.
‘Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.’
It is understood only products made in Belgium are affected by the recall, products made in Italy are safe.
