Conor McGregor could make a sensational return to UFC at Madison Square Garden in New York

REVEALED: Conor McGregor could make a stunning UFC return at Madison Square Garden in New York or the 100,000-seater AT&T stadium in Dallas for his first fight since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021

Dana White claims Conor McGregor‘s hugely anticipated UFC comeback could be staged at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The Irishman hasn’t fought since July 2021, when he was defeated by Dustin Poirier due to a sickening leg break after kicking his opponent.

It was revealed that McGregor will return against Michael Chandler later this year, but the specific date and venue are still to be confirmed.

But UFC chief White has some big plans in mind.

Speaking to Sports Business Journal, he revealed: ‘You can do the Cowboys’ stadium, Madison Square Garden, obviously Vegas.

‘We’re looking at all the different options.’

New York’s Madison Square Garden would hold around 21,000 fans, while the Cowboys’ AT&T stadium has a maximum capacity of 100,000.

Both McGregor and Chandler are facing off as coaches in the The Ultimate Fighter, with the pair expected to fight after the conclusion of the series.

McGregor lost his last two fights – both against Poirier – before his time on the sidelines after his 2021 leg break.

The 34-year-old McGregor has a 22-6 record in UFC, while Chandler is 23-8.

McGregor has lost three of his last four fights – he was also defeated by Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 but won in the first round against Donald Cerrone in 2020.
