Conor McGregor should quit UFC and become a boxer full-time, according to legendary fighter George Foreman… as he insists the Irishman would BEAT Manny Pacquiao if they met in the ring

  • Conor McGregor has now lost two of his last three fights in the Octagon
  • He has not fought in the boxing ring since losing to Floyd Mayweather in 2017
  • But George Foreman insists the Irishman should turn his sole attention to boxing
  • Foreman added that McGregor could even beat all-time great Manny Pacquiao

Conor McGregor has been urged to retire from MMA and turn his attention to boxing by legendary fighter George Foreman.

Irishman McGregor has only fought in a professional boxing fight once, losing via a stoppage in the tenth round to unbeaten legend Floyd Mayweather back in 2017.

But after coming out second-best in his return to the UFC octagon against Dustin Poirier last month, McGregor is yet to make a decision on his next move – and Foreman suggests he switches to boxing, where he could even beat Manny Pacquiao

Pacquiao, like McGregor, lost to Floyd Mayweather in the biggest fight of his career

‘It’s hard for McGregor to accept it but he’s a better puncher than he is in MMA,’ Foreman told the Star

‘I’d rather see him in boxing matches now. I think if he has a fight with Pacquiao he can actually beat him – good rules, over 10 rounds, McGregor can beat him.

‘He’s already adjusted to boxing, he’s not going to do good in MMA anymore.

‘Pacquiao is very good as a matter of fact, but McGregor can beat him in a boxing match.’

Pacquiao also lost to Floyd Mayweather in the biggest fight of his career, losing on points to the American back in 2015.

McGregor, 32, has previously teased a return to the boxing ring, including a mega-showdown against Pacquiao.

The ‘Notorious’ has lost two of his last three fights in the Octagon, having succumbed to a submission defeat against unbeaten Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018 too.
