Constantine Maroulis and Lea Michele ‘have a little history’ but he never saw ‘mean girl mentality’

One of Lea Michele’s former Broadway colleagues, Costantine Maroulis, says he never experienced any of her recently rumored ‘mean girl mentality’ back when they worked together.

The 44-year-old former American Idol contestant opened up about the recent controversy over Lea’s behavior while appearing on David Yontef’s Behind the Velvet Rope podcast where he also shared that they ‘have a little history.’

The romantic revelations continued during the candid conversation, with Maroulis revealing he had romantic trysts with not one, not two but three castmates from the Real Housewives of New York.

Constantine and Lea both worked alongside one another when they were younger in New York’s tight knit Broadway community and ran in similar circles while in Los Angeles.

Maroulis looked back on his time hanging around ‘the Glee kids’ with fondness, calling Lea ‘great’.

‘We have a little history,’ he said coyly. ‘I genuinely liked her and I found her, I…find her to be an incredibly talented.’

He added later: ‘We’re a very close community, you know? So I think we had, yeah, we might’ve had a little moment together back in the day.’

Their ‘moment’ aside, Constantine also touched on the rumors about Michele’s diva behavior on set that, in some cases, were alleged to be full out bullying.

‘I’m not informed enough to know about all of that stuff that happened to on Glee,’ he said of the controversy.

‘I’d rather listen to hear what people have to say,’ the American Idol star said. ‘I think that’s just more important than anything right now in this social climate.’

‘I think that she is so talented and I think a it’s really hard to be so young and get so famous,’ he said of Lea. Adding that a ‘mean girl mentality’ in someone so young should have been handled by parents.

He also seemed to sympathize with the Scream Queens actress who is expecting her first child saying she has ‘taken a lot of s**t’ during her pregnancy.

Rumors of Lea’s similar diva-like behavior also cropped up from some of her former colleagues on Broadway. However, Constantine revealed that he never experienced that side of the songstress.

‘I’ve heard them,’ he said of the stories. ‘I’ve heard them all and no, I have not, I don’t have that experience.’

He added: ‘In fact, if anything, like I think we hung out and I didn’t even realize that she was the girl that then became the girl on Glee.’

His past with Lea Michele wasn’t the only bombshell dropped during the podcast episode.

Maroulis also dished the details about his dalliances with Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer and Tinsley Mortimer.

The American Idol alum’s entanglements came to light when Luann started talking about a new mystery suitor with the group, then quipping: ‘We share a lot of people, don’t we?’

While Luann was gushing about a potential new man, Ramona stepped in and said she had a ‘story’ about the fellow, who de Lesseps said ‘won American Idol.’ (Maroulis came in sixth place on season four.)

After the episode, Constantine said his phone was inundated with calls and texts.

‘Of course my phone started blowing up. I’m like, “What the f**k?”‘ he laughed on the podcast. ‘I guess I got a million calls about it. A couple of people sent me the video and I was like, “Oh yeah. Okay. Yeah, they’re definitely talking about me!”‘

And Constantine said they all are still on good terms.
