A couple accused of scamming British Airways and Virgin out of £90,000 by making fake insurance claims on flights they never booked appeared in court today.
Allan Uchendu, 29, and Taleka White, 32, allegedly created bogus documents to show they had paid for the flights.
They then submitted false claims to insurance companies by inventing a false reason for not being able to make it to the airport, Southwark Crown Court heard.
The couple claimed a total £87,865.64 over a three year period and submitted fake documents to insurance companies, it was said.

Earlier prosecutor Suleman Hussain said: ‘These matters concern a fraud between February 26, 2016, and January 17, 2019.
‘Information has been received through the insurance fraud bureau that this is a case of fraudulent travel claims.’
Uchendu, of Sutton, and White, of Croydon, are yet to enter pleas to one count of fraud by false representation, one count of possessing articles used for fraud and one count of using criminal property.
They were granted unconditional bail ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Southwark Crown Court on December 1.
