Covid-19: Queensland may NOT open to Sydney on 30 November

Queensland may NOT open to Sydney on 30 November as Annastacia Palaszczuk says ‘there may still be hotspots’ when borders are reviewed

Annastacia Palaszczuk has flagged the possibility that Sydneysiders may remain barred from Queensland when the state reviews its borders on 30 November.

The premier suggested the border rules barring Victorians were more likely to be relaxed after the state enjoyed its 14th day without a new coronavirus case.

‘In relation to Victoria, we’re very encouraged with what’s happening down there,’ she told reporters on Friday.

‘And we will be looking very closely at the end of the month at Victoria, and also New South Wales. There may be some hot spots.

‘Dr Young will assess this at the end of the month. But we are very encouraged with what we are seeing in Victoria at this stage.’
