Crushing moment bungling demolition workers bring down a water tower onto their own van

A group of bungling demolition workers were caught on camera bringing down a water tower on top of their own van with a thud. 

The mishap, which left residents without water for several hours, was recorded in the village of Kholmina in Tver Oblast, Russia.

The men could do nothing but watch helplessly as their vehicle was crushed into nothing but a crumpled heap. 

In the clip workers can be seen standing at the base of the imposing water tower.

There are several ropes secured around the teetering structure as a tractor prepares to pull it to the ground.

One of the men can be heard shouting to get the operation underway but the anticipation quickly turns to fear.

The mishap, which left residents without water for several hours, was recorded in the village of Kholmina in Tver Oblast, Russia

Cracks begin to echo around the space and the tower unexpectedly leans toward where the group are standing.

They soon realise what is about to happen and quickly scarper as they race to get out of its path.

Suddenly the tower collapses completely and smashes down on to their own van which they had left parked on the road. 

Debris flies through the air as the men helplessly watch in disbelief.

Fortunately, no one was in the vehicle at the time, and no injuries were reported.

But local houses and farms were left without water for several hours, according to local media.

Authorities have since removed the structure’s remains and the well was connected to a pump.
