Darren Moore appointed Sheffield Wednesday’s new boss as Owls bid to make late charge out of Championship relegation zone after losing four games on the trot

  • Darren Moore has left his role at Doncaster to take over at Sheffield Wednesday
  • Owls are in danger of being relegated to League One come the end of the term
  • They currently sit six points adrift of safety with 14 matches remaining 

Sheffield Wednesday have appointed Darren Moore as their new manager. 

Moore left his role at League One Doncaster Rovers to take over at Hillsborough. 

Moore has an impressive average of more than 1.5 points per game across three divisions consisting of the Premier League and Championship with West Brom, then most recently in League One with Doncaster.

He leaves his previous club in a comfortable promotion position. Moore’s challenge in the short term is to keep Wednesday in the Championship.
