PCSO fighting computer crime is charged with 10 offences including making indecent images of children and voyeurism

A Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) entrusted with combatting online crime has been charged with 10 offences, including allegedly making indecent images of children.

James Land had worked as a PCSO for Derbyshire Constabulary since 2007.

According to his LinkedIn page, he was given a position in the force’s Cyber Crime Unit in 2017.

The 43-year-old has been suspended from his role as a PCSO, based in Ripley in the East Midlands.  

He has been charged with three counts of making indecent images.

James Land, 43, formerly a PCSO for Derbyshire Constabulary in their Cyber Crime Unit, has been charged with three counts of making indecent images, one count of possessing extreme images and six counts of voyeurism

In addition, he has been charged with one count of possessing extreme images and six counts of voyeurism. 

Land is due to appear before magistrates in Chesterfield next month. 

Despite his PCSO role having been based in Derbyshire, he lives in Wales, according to a statement on the Constabulary’s website.
