Mountains Dew and PUBG promote active, vibrant youth lifestyles through immersive experiences.
MOUNTAIN Dew Dew’s Challenge returns with another groundbreaking partnership, this time teaming up with the mobile gaming giant, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG).
This year’s Dew Challenge goes national, merging the best of both worlds – virtual and reality, in one of the largest PUBG-themed paintball tournaments, bringing together all the elements that players know and love in-game to real life.
Geared towards capturing the enthusiasm of sporty and adventurous youth, as well as aspiring PUBG players, this collaboration promises an immersive gaming experience brimming with innovative and novel concepts.
Etika’s Vice President of Marketing, Amy Gan, said, “We are especially excited for this instalment of the Dew Challenge. It truly is representative of Mountain Dew’s commitment to our consumers who seek to live life authentically.”
“With the pandemic chapter closed, we can now bring the virtual to reality in a one-of-a-kind experience for Malaysians who are ready to break out of the norm and try something new. We want people to push their boundaries and live their best, most vibrant lives,” she added.
In regards to the collaboration, she also stated, “It’s the first time a brand has done something of this scale and it is only possible because we have such an amazing team and partners, especially PUBG, who share our vision and believe in this idea as much as we do. We would like to encourage everyone to join, gamer or not, and be a part of this historic journey with Us.”
Starting from October 1st, interested participants can purchase a 400ml bottle of Mountain Dew. Then visit the Dew Challenge website at dewchallenge.com, where they can enter the unique code found under the bottle cap to complete their registration and redeem a range of prizes, which may include UC Coins, in-game items, merchandise, and partner vouchers.
With each bottle redemption, participants will receive a random amount of Dew Coins, which contribute to the regional live leaderboard rankings. The top players from each leaderboard will receive priority participation in the thrilling regional rounds scheduled for November, covering four regions across Malaysia: North, South, Central, and East Malaysia.
The launch event will include a treasure hunt, inspired by in-game mechanics. Similar to how players choose their drop zones when parachuting into the game, participants will begin by selecting the region for their journey.
In a similar manner to players collecting weapons, armour, and supplies from loot boxes in the game, participants will embark on a treasure hunt to find loot boxes that offer extra leaderboard points and more opportunities before the tournament.
The loot boxes get restocked on a daily basis or at various times during the day at partner locations such as MBO Cinemas, Morac Go Kart, Chicago Chicken City, Taco Bell, and Dominos throughout the country.
Participants will receive notifications from the Dew Challenge website regarding loot box sightings. They can scan the QR code on virtual loot boxes to claim prizes that will enhance their leaderboard standings.

Visitors can participate in a range of PUBG-inspired activities, including the Mountain Dew x PUBG vending machine, an immersive shooting gallery, and gaming jam sessions. Exclusive merchandise and sampling products are available for redemption, with additional prizes up for grabs.
Furthermore, as this year’s official mobile sponsor for the Dew Challenge, HONOR Malaysia will contribute 110 amazing prizes for participants, marking the first brand collaboration for the new release.
The registration period, treasure hunt, and mobile truck activities will run from the 1st to the 31st of October. Regional events will take place in November, with the Grand Finale scheduled for December.
