Diplo reveals security wouldn’t let him in to a Cannes Film Festival party that he was hired to DJ: ‘Next time I’m adding myself to the guest list’
Diplo is arguably one of the more popular DJ’s in the world… though he apparently isn’t recognizable enough to get into a party he was hired to work at.
The 43-year-old musician (born Thomas Wesley Pentz) took to TikTok and Instagram on Monday, sharing a video with his fans that showed security at a Cannes Film Festival Party wouldn’t let him in… despite the fact that he was hired to work at.
He seemed to have a good sense of humor about the ordeal, adding in his caption on both TikTok and Instagram: ‘Next time I’m adding myself to guest list.’

The video – which has over 12.3 million views on his verified TikTok, began with the DJ – clad in a colorful sweater with blue hair – trying to get into the party on a yacht.
‘I was booked to DJ a yacht party at Cannes but security wouldn’t let me in…’ he captioned on the video.
The video also shows a blonde woman trying to explain to security, ‘He’s the DJ,’ while Diplo tried to explain that he was hired by the owner of the yacht.
