Two days earlier Duane had posted a sweet Instagram slideshow of ‘valentines days memories that will last forever’ with his wife.

Beth was only 51 years old last June when she died after a cancer battle in Honolulu, the city where she met her husband.

In the months following her demise there were romance rumors involving Dog and one Moon Angell, a friend of the family.

Duane then fake proposed to Moon this month during an episode of The Dr. Oz Show, and she turned him down on the air.

He explained his decision last week on Entertainment Tonight, revealing that he asked Moon to marry him because ‘I am very lonesome.’

Duane shared of his connection to Moon that ‘she knew Beth. And she talked about Beth constantly: “Remember what Beth used to tell us,” and of course I would light right up when she’d say that. I was infatuated with a dream.’

Their platonic relationship has lasted as ‘She still works for me, and takes care of the finances. I kind of embarrassed her a little bit and I shouldn’t have.’

However he swore that the proposal ‘was not rehearsed’ and shared that if Moon wanted him to be with her ‘I would have because it was more accessible.’

Yet Moon once told him: ‘No one will ever love you like Beth did. You better stop looking for that because there is no woman alive that will ever love you like that.’
