A fluffy dog has been filmed prodding his friend to wake up as it collapsed after an alleged hit-and-run in the Philippines.

Residents watched the heartbreaking moment a faithful pooch tried to jab the caramel-coloured dog to wake up before realising he had died.

In the video, one of the dogs is seen lying flat across the residential street while his speckled cream and white friend tries to push him off the ground with his nose.

The pale dog nuzzles at his back and tries to shove him forwards with the force of his nose, in the clip shared on Monday.

Moments later, he stops from sniffing his four-legged friend as though he has realised he wont be waking up any time soon.
