Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been voted as September’s Player of the Month after scoring five goals in three Premier League games to help propel the Toffees to the top of the table.

The Everton striker is in red-hot form and has now been recognised for his efforts, beating the likes of Harry Kane, Sadio Mane and team-mate James Rodriquez to the award.

After scoring the only goal in Everton’s season-opening win at Tottenham, the 23-year-old hasn’t look back before going on to hit a hat-trick past West Brom at Goodison Park.

He then went on to score in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace seven days later to ensure Everton maintained their perfect start to the season.

The Toffees are currently top of the table having won all four games under Carlo Ancelotti.

Calvert-Lewin’s recent rich vein of form has been put down to Ancelotti’s coaching, with the Italian manager turning the forward into a lethal poacher in and around the box.

His recent displays have also earned him a call up to the England squad, with Gareth Southgate handing him his debut in the 3-0 over Wales on Thursday evening.

Predictably, Calvert-Lewin scored in that one, too, heading in the opener for the Three Lions.

After being announced as the Premier League’s Player of the Month for September, Calvert-Lewin took to Twitter for the support.

He said: ‘A great start to the season. Thank you to my team mates and the people that voted.’

The England international’s goal tally in the Premier League stands at six currently, after he added another in Everton’s 4-2 victory over Brighton earlier this month.
