The model, 29, worked a torso-hugging black dress in New York City‘s Tribeca neighborhood on Monday, the same day she unveiled her pregnancy on the cover of Vogue.

Emily was a vision of maternity chic as she made her way through the Big Apple in a black, cut-out dress with red snakeskin print boots.

The Gone Girl actress was a vision of style with her arm full of gold bracelets, while a coordinating pair of hoop earrings glammed up her complexion.

She shaded her eyes behind an edgy pair of black sunglasses.

Loose waves softened up her otherwise very edgy look.

The outing comes after Emily revealed on the cover of Vogue that she was expecting her first child with husband Sebastian Bear-McClard.

‘Grateful & growing,’ Emily announced on Instagram, where she posted the cover.

In an essay shared on the Vogue website, Emily wrote: ‘When my husband and I tell friends that I’m pregnant, their first question after “Congratulations” is almost always ‘Do you know what you want?’ We like to respond that we won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and that they’ll let us know then,’ Emily wrote.

Emily said that ‘everyone laughs at this.’

She added that there is a truth to their line, though: ‘One that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who—rather than what—is growing inside my belly. Who will this person be?’

She wondered how the child will change their lives.

‘This is a wondrous and terrifying concept, one that renders us both helpless and humbled.’ She added, ‘I like the idea of forcing as few gender stereotypes on my child as possible.’

But no matter how progressive she may hope to be, Emily said, ‘I understand the desire to know the gender of our fetus; it feels like the first real opportunity to glimpse who they might be.

‘As my body changes in bizarre and unfamiliar ways, it’s comforting to obtain any information that might make what’s coming feel more real.’
