Wearing her hair in a sleek bun adorned with a large red rose, Emma accessorised with diamond earrings and nude court shoes, opting for minimal make-up.

Meanwhile TV presenter Rachel, 33, put on a dazzling display in a floor length dress with silver piping and a matching clutch.

Wearing her hair in loose curls and injecting a splash of colour with statement lipstick, she beamed as she  posed for pictures with Emma.

The star-studded guestlist also included Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips, 41, who posed alongside photographer David Yarrow and Zara Phillips’ husband Mike Tindall.

The men put on a dapper display in black tuxedos and crisp white shirts.

Tusk’s Royal Patron Prince William said in his speech at last year’s event, ‘Now is not the time to be complacent’ and ‘what Tusk has achieved in microcosm in a number of communities in Africa needs elevating to a much bigger scale’.

The charity tackles conservation challenges, from human-wildlife conflict and habitat loss to the ongoing challenge of poaching and the illegal wildlife trade.

The plush event kicked off with a champagne and canapés reception in the State Apartments, and was followed by a three-course dinner, live and silent auction and entertainment in the Pavilion next to the Palace’s beautiful sunken gardens.

Emma married Ceawlin Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, 44, in 2013, and the pair live in 130-room Longleat House Ceawlin, with their two young children.

The philanthropist and chef splits her time between London and the sprawling Elizabethan stately pile in Wiltshire’s famous safari park Longleat with her husband, the son of the 7th Marquess of Bath, and their two sons, John, 4, and Henry, 1.

Emma, who will become a marchioness when her husband assumes the title held by his 86-year-old father, Alexander, gave birth to her first child, the Honourable John Alexander Ladi Thynn, in October 2014.

In December 2016 she welcomed his little brother, the Honourable Henry Richard Isaac Thynn, via surrogate at a private clinic in West Hollywood.

The couple revealed at the time that their choice of surrogacy was the result of a terrifying brain illness suffered by Emma during her first pregnancy in 2014, which prompted doctors to warn that having a second child could kill her.

‘It was one of the most incredible gifts I could ever receive,’ she previously told the MailOnline.

‘I’m so grateful. It is a miracle to have Henry, my second beautiful boy, here in the middle of Wiltshire via California. I have been asked by so many people about it, and I cannot recommend it more as it gave me my second son.

But she revealed she is keen to keep her sons grounded, and previously said: ‘It’s important for them to be exposed to a variety of friends and experiences.

‘They go to school in London [the family divides its time 50/50 between Longleat and the capital] where they meet folk from all walks of life. I think that’s the key.’

Emma grew up Emma McQuiston in Kensington, daughter of English socialite Suzanna McQuiston and Chief Oladipo Jadesimi, a Nigerian oil magnate who gave her away at her wedding.
