The two-day summit will see leaders discuss climate change, the EU budget, Brexit, Russian sanctions and the euro zone.
Marin said: ‘The ambitious climate goals that we have to take – the new generations are expecting us to act and we have to fulfil the expectations of the people. I’m worried about this climate issue.
‘We have to do more, we have to do it faster. It’s about the future of our children. I am very much looking forward that we would find a common goal today.’

Sanna Marin, 34, Finland’s new Prime Minister and the world’s youngest sitting leader, had her first EU summit in Brussels Thursday (pictured) – and appeared to make friends with Emmanuel Macron
Marin has largely brushed aside media frenzy over her appointment, taking office on Tuesday after the Centre Party withdrew support from Social Democrat leader Antti Rinne, forcing him to step down as prime minister.
Marin leads a coalition of five parties, all of which are lead by women, four of whom are under 35.
‘I haven’t concentrated that much on the media coverage of the change of government or my prime ministership,’ she said.
‘I have concentrated on the fact that we have a lot of work to do,’ Marin told reporters in Brussels yesterday.
