England: Declan Rice left jealous after best pal Mason Mount’s picture with Ben Chilwell

Jack Grealish jokes Declan Rice is ‘not happy’ after England team-mate Ben Chilwell posted a picture alongside his ‘best mate’ Mason Mount… with the West Ham star and Chelsea midfielder known to be inseparable

They’ve become inseparable on and off the pitch since growing up together at Chelsea, so it’s no surprise Declan Rice has not taken well to Ben Chilwell calling Mason Mount his ‘best mate’ on Instagram.

Rice’s England team-mate Jack Grealish joked that the West Ham star was ‘not happy’ after the Chelsea left-back posted a picture cosying up to the midfielder as they smiled together following their Champions League victory over Manchester City.

Chilwell and Mount are recovering after their famous 1-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s men in Porto to help the club claim Europe’s greatest prize for a second time, with the pair set to link up with Rice and Grealish on England camp ahead of Euro 2020 this month.

In his post on social media, the left-back showed himself giving a peace sign alongside a beaming Mount, who was sporting a cap, sunglasses and a sweater vest.

Chilwell wrote the caption ‘my best mate’, with Grealish replying: ‘@declanrice just told me he is not happy with ur caption.’

Rice, who has been pictured arm-in-arm with Mount on England duty and on holidays together, decided to stick the boot into his friend by asking ‘What time is Mace playing golf??’, referring to his outfit.

Mount jokingly hit back at Rice by playing up his Champions League success, replying: ‘When the trophy parade finishes,’ attaching a tongue out emoji and heart sign, with Rice posting: ‘Love it youuuu.’

Chilwell and Mount had both been in a jubilant mood after their triumph in Porto, with the pair seen dancing around the dressing room in videos taken by Chelsea’s media team as they partied into the night.

Mount, who set up Kai Havertz’ winner in the first half, will soon be united with Rice at the England camp, with the pair expected to be named in Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad.

The duo have been labelled ‘joined at the hip’ by their England team-mates due to the amount of time they spend together.

‘We go down to breakfast together, lunch together, dinner together, we’re always together,’ Mount told Sportsmail in an interview alongside Rice in 2019. ‘So some of the boys are like…’

‘Joined at the hip you two!’ Rice interjected.

They had taken a trip to Dubai in that same year which saw the creation of a viral video of Mount scaring Rice while asleep on a boat.

Rice had also revealed the pair are so close that his girlfriend is beginning to get concerned whenever they are reunited for England duty.

‘My missus is quite worried,’ Rice laughed. ‘That’s genuinely being serious. She’s quite worried.’

Mount said: ‘What was she saying when we were away on internationals? Sharing a room together.’

Rice replied: ‘She’s always like… “You two… you love him more than you love me”. We get it in the neck all the time. But they need to understand the friendship.’
