Former Manchester United and Fulham midfielder Ryan Tunnicliffe is at the centre of a tug of war after turning down Luton Town’s offer of a two year contract extension.

Tunnicliffe is currently considering offers from MLS, Turkish Super League and a number of Championship clubs including Derby County, managed by his former Manchester United club mate Wayne Rooney.

Huddersfield Town, Hull City and Barnsley are also interested in the 28-year-old who has amassed ten years experience playing in the Championship and made 256 appearances.

Known for his tenacity and work ethic, Tunnicliffe first came to prominence in 2011 as part of Manchester United’s FA Youth Cup winning side that beat Sheffield Inited and was hailed as the next ‘class of ‘92’.

Despite playing alongside talents such as Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, Sam Johnstone, Michael Keane and Ravel Morrison, it was Tunnicliffe who was voted United’s Young Player of the Year that season winning the Jimmy Murphy award.

Tunnicliffe famously made his father £10,000 when he made his United debut against Newcastle, coming on as a substitute for Rooney.

When Ryan was aged just nine, his father Mick had bet £100 at 100/1 that his son would play for United.

He left United for Fulham in 2014 where Sir Alex Ferguson’s former assistant Rene Meulensteen was manager.
