Four-year-old girl who vanished after leaving play centre is found safe and well

  • Police have found Scarlet Duddy, 4, who went missing in Derry, Northern Ireland
  • Child disappeared from children’s play centre shortly before midday yesterday

A four-year-old who sparked an urgent police search after she disappeared from a children’s play centre has been found ‘safe and well’.   

Scarlet Duddy was last spotted leaving the play centre on the Springtown Road area of Derry, Northern Ireland, shortly before midday on June 28.

Following an urgent appeal, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said she had been found.

In a statement, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said: ‘Scarlet has been found safe and well this afternoon and I want to thank the public for their help with our appeal.’     

Earlier today Inspector Swanson urged members of the public with any information about the missing four-year-old to ‘contact police immediately’.

He said: ‘We are keen to know that Scarlet is safe and well.

‘We believe she may be in the company of a relative and may possibly be in the Republic of Ireland.

‘She was wearing peach leggings, a peach skirt, peach t-shirt with daddy’s little superstar printed on the front and a dark blue jumper with silver sequined heart.

‘If any members of the public have any information about Scarlet, I would urge them to contact police immediately.’
