‘One of the greatest jockeys of all time’

Italian-born Frankie Dettori is one of the greatest jockeys of all time.

Among his many achievements, Dettori rode more than 100 winners in a season while still a teenager.

Perhaps his crowning glory was riding all seven winners on a single day at Ascot in 1996.

In 2002 Dettori became a captain on the BBC’s ‘A Question of Sport’ – resigning just a year later after being unable to answer a question of when he retired.

He then rededicated his life to racing, where his successes have continued.

The agents believe it is the perfect home for anyone with a passion for horses and are expecting a huge amount of interest.

Newmarket is famed for its racecourse and is home to a number of prominent jockeys and trainers.

The Dettoris sold White Horse Stables in 2015.

A spokesman for estate agents Jackson-Stops said: ‘This house was the much-loved home of legendary Jockey Frankie Dettori.

‘He and his wife Catherine raised their family at the Newmarket home until 2015.

‘The home is unsurprisingly very well-equipped with equestrian facilities within over 15 acres of land.’

Dettori, a former captain on TV’s A Question of Sport, has been named British flat racing champion jockey three times.

He once rode all seven winners in one day’s racing at Ascot in 1996.

The Italian-born star is famed for his exuberant celebration which sees him flamboyantly leap from his horse after a race win.

Anyone interested in purchasing his former home should contact Jackson-Stops.
