‘General Lee’ in the war on Christmas! Jimmy Kimmel pokes fun at Melania’s White House decorations

Jimmy Kimmel has called Melania Trump the ‘General Lee’ in the war on Christmas and joked Fox News‘ Maria Bartiromo is auditioning to be the President’s next wife.

During the monologue on ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ show on Monday night, the host took aim at a recent video shared by the First Lady of her unveiling this year’s Christmas decorations in the White House.

The video showed Melania walking through the halls of the White House surrounded by a forest of Christmas trees and lavish decorations.

'In the war on Christmas, she is General Lee,' Kimmel (pictured) said during his monologue on Monday night. 'But there's an old Trump family saying that goes, "Nothing we say is true, so we might as well make some money off of it."'

But Kimmel played an edited version of Melania’s video, showing pictures of Christmas decorations such as a bauble with ‘Get me the f*** out of here’ written on it, ‘I hate him’ over a picture of her husband and ‘This is Bulls**t’ written on a train.

‘At least she’s having fun with it,’ Kimmel joked after the video. ‘Make no mistake about it, Melania Trump is not enthused about being in charge of Christmas at the White House,’ Kimmel said.

Kimmel then recalled a leaked audio recording of the Melania Trump complaining to a friend about her duties as First Lady, in which she is heard saying: ‘Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff?’

Another video then played, this time in the style of an infomercial advertising the First Lady’s ‘new Christmas album’, featuring such hits as ‘F*** the Halls’ and ‘I Saw Daddy Humping Stormy Clause’ in a reference to Stormy Daniels.

Earlier in the monologue, Kimmel had also taken aim at Donald Trump’s continued refusal to accept the election result, and his first post-election interview, which saw him speak to Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo.

The Jimmy Kimmel Life show also played a fake infomercial, advertising Melania Trump's 'Christmas album' (pictured), poking fun at her own expletive-ridden rant in which she told a friend in leaked audio: 'Who gives a f*** about Christmas stuff?'

‘We are on day 27 now of #Squattergate’, Kimmel said, going on to introduce audio clips from Trump’s interview with who he described as the ‘always sycophantic Maria Bartiromo to ‘make a cornucopia of unchallenged false claims.’

The clip of Trump railing against alleged election fraud – of which no evidence has been presented – and ‘big massive dumps’ of votes, the host joked ‘When you get to his age, a lot of your conversation is about the size of your dumps.’

Turning his attention to the Fox News host, Kimmel criticised her for humouring the president, saying ‘I don’t know what happened to her, but she appears to be auditioning for the position of Donald Trump’s next wife because that was some interview.’

In the rambling interview on Sunday morning, Trump accused his FBI and Department of Justices of conspiring to ‘rig’ the election for Joe Biden .

‘This is total fraud and how – the FBI and Department of Justice, I don’t know, maybe they’re involved – but how people are allowed to get away from this with this stuff is unbelievable,’ Trump told Bartiromo.

‘This election was rigged,’ he told the ‘Sunday Morning Futures’ host.

Trump went off on the election results in the more than 45-minute interview where most of his answers spanned several minutes and repeated claims he has already made over the past weeks on Twitter .

The president claimed without any evidence during the interview that even ‘most Democrats ‘ believe ‘election fraud’ led to Biden’s win.

The president also told Bartiromo there’s ‘no way’ Biden earned more votes than Barack Obama in his two presidential elections.

He also said the U.S. will never have another Republican president, senator or representative elected if they allow Democrats to get away with ‘stealing’ the election for Biden. Trump suggested that Democrats now know how to ‘cheat’ the system effectively and will have their candidates win from now on.

‘If Republicans allow it to happen, you’ll never have another Republican elected in the history of this country, at a Senate level or at a presidential level… or at a House level,’ Trump said, referencing the GOP accepting the election results.

‘Mail-in voting is a total disaster,’ he added, insisting this medium was the way Democrats were able to ‘rig’ the election.

Trump also insisted that he can prove the voting machines were used by Democrats to fraudulently win the election for Biden – but he did not yet offer any solid evidence.

Trump blamed the media for portraying his lawsuits and case against the election results as voice of any evidence.

‘We don’t have freedom of the press in this country. We have suppression of press,’ Trump said. You can’t have a scandal if no one reports about it.’

‘They make it like we don’t have evidence, we have evidence all over the place,’ he told Bartiromo.

He also told the Fox News host that she is ‘brave’ for interviewing him and talking about election fraud – of which there is no evidence – on her shows.
