Heather Locklear’s daughter Ava gets  a special graduation celebration

While Heather Locklear’s daughter Ava didn’t get to wear the cap and gown and get her diploma in a traditional graduation ceremony, her church is helping to make up for it.

Locklear, 58, shared a new video on Instagram with Ava, 23, as they went outside to a special celebration.

‘My church celebrating Ava’s graduation. She got a 4.0 this semester,’ Locklear said, while tagging Atmosphere Church on Instagram.

The video featured Ava, wearing a white floral print minidress, with a gold necklace around her neck, as she walked up to a throng of supporters with her mom filming.

‘Are you dying right now?’ Heather asks her daughter, as cars are heard honking down the street, all waiting for her.

Ava starts fanning her face, saying, ‘I’m gonna start crying’ as they see one of the cars in front of the driveway has a sign that reads ‘Congrats Ava.’

One of the several vehicles that came out to support Ava was a truck from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, with one of the firefighters on a bullhorn saying, ‘We brought some firemen to celebrate with you.’

Ava kept walking out into the street, clearly touched by the gesture as her supporters kept honking their horns for her.

As she greets everyone that came out to support her, Ava said she’s gonna cry again adding, ‘This is the sweetest thing.’

Ava’s father, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, told People in April that his daughter, who graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, was ‘bummed’ there would not be a ceremony.

‘She’s a little bit bummed because, you know, she was graduating in May, and now the pomp and circumstance of the whole graduation thing is off,’ the 60-year-old rocker said.

He added that his daughter, ‘really kicked a**’ during her time at the university, adding, ‘she made the dean’s list every year and all of that other stuff, so she was really looking forward to her graduation.’

While Ava sadly won’t get the ceremony she certainly deserved, at least she got to celebrate her accomplishments with her loved ones.
