On Sunday evening, alongside her Dancing On Ice co-host Phillip Schofield, Holly once again paid tribute to friend and former colleague Caroline, as they opened the show.

In an emotional opening preamble, a visibly devastated Schofield choked back tears while remembering Flack.

He began: ‘We’d like to begin tonight’s show by taking a moment to remember Caroline Flack in light of yesterday’s awful news. We wanted to say that our hearts go out to her family and friends.’

Taking over from her co-host, Holly referred to one of Caroline’s recent Instagram posts, adding: ‘Many of us on the show knew Caroline as a friend and we’ll all miss her enormously.

‘As Caroline recently posted, In a world where you can be anything, be kind.’

The news of Caroline’s death was confirmed by her family, who said in a statement: ‘We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.’

It has emerged that paramedics were scrambled to Flack’s north London home the day before she killed herself – but didn’t take her to hospital after a clinical assessment.

Sources told MailOnline that ambulance crews were sent to the former Love Island presenter’s Stoke Newington flat over ‘concerns for her welfare’, but decided against taking her to hospital after checking her over.
