Hoppers Crossing, Melbourne: Major crime scene set up

A major crime scene has been established, blocking off residential street in west Melbourne. 

Grevillea Crescent on Hoppers Crossing was cordoned off by emergency services on Tuesday afternoon.

Crime scene tape has been set up on opposite ends of the street and several emergency vehicles including a police van are already on the scene. 

Homicide Squad detectives are among the officers who have responded to the incident.

Paramedics were not needed on the scene, according to some who talked to 9News. 

Paramedics told 9News they weren’t required to attend after emergency services were called to the scene earlier this afternoon.

It is unknown at this time what officers are responding to.
