House of the Dragon fans detect continuity glitch surrounding injured hand of King Viserys

Fans of House Of The Dragon detected a continuity issue on Sunday’s episode of the Game of Thrones prequel involving the character King Viserys, played by Paddy Considine.

On the show’s premiere episode, King Viserys cut his fingers while touching the Iron Throne, leading to an infected wound that eventually led to him losing a pair of fingers.

The deterioration of the character’s digits were shown halfway through Sunday’s episode, the third of the series, depicting how they had rotted (with the use of greenscreen technology).

One user said: ‘CGI budget ran out… I saw the green sleeves on the king’s fingers when passing the paper #HouseOfTheDragon.

Said another: ‘Shout out to King Viserys’ key green fingers. You were too strong to be erased.’

Another said, ‘Man, Viserys must be great at gardening with those green fingers.’

The glitch hearkened back to a widely seen error in a scene in the eighth season of Game of Thrones, in which a coffee cup was seen on a table at which Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke, was seated. The mistake was subsequently edited out of reruns.

Clarke in 2019 revealed on The Tonight Show that her costar Conleth Hill told her that he had accidentally left the cup in the filming area. She said Hill, who played the role of Lord Varys on the series, told her, ‘Emilia, I have got to tell you something, love — the coffee cup was mine.’

Clarke continued: ‘It was his! It was Conleth’s coffee cup. He said so. He said, “I think it was, I am sorry, darling, I didn’t want to say anything because it seemed the heat was very much on you.” I was like “What? what!?”‘
