I’m A Celebrity: Kate Garraway is warmly greeted by her husband Derek after becoming the ninth star to leave the jungle… as she reveals she was too ‘terrified’ to take part last year

Kate Garraway narrowly missed out on the I’m A Celebrity grand final after becoming the ninth person to be eliminated from the show.

During her exit interview with hosts Ant and Dec, the Good Morning Britain star, 52, told how she had agreed to take part in the ITV show last year, but then changed her mind as she was too ‘terrified.’

Her semi-final exit means that Jacqueline Jossa, Andrew Whyment and Roman Kemp will battle it out to be crowned King or Queen of the jungle on Sunday.

As Kate chatted to the Geordie duo in the studio, she revealed she couldn’t believe she had got that far.

Touching on the fact she pulled out of the series in 2018, Kate explained why she had now done a u-turn.

She told the pair that ‘it’s now or never’, explaining that her two children were now old enough to ‘cope’ without her.

Her departure comes hot the heels of Nadine Coyle and Caitlyn Jenner, who were the seventh and eighth to leave the jungle.
