Not only is Bali a popular destination for Australians to visit in the winter but it is also one of the top places on people’s lists when free travel resumes.

‘When arriving at his lovely and special village, you immediately feel all the good Bali has to offer you. Balian is a small surfer, relax village it feels like the older days in Bali,’ the owner says.

There are also fruit trees in the gardens surrounding the home which guests are invited to eat from, depending on the season there are coconuts, lemons, papayas, lemongrass, jackfruit and passionfruit.

The home is perfect for two guests as there is just one bedroom. But there is also a day bed with a mosquito net as well.

The home has hundreds of good reviews, and a rating of 4.85/5, and is valued at just $78 per night.

‘Spending our last week at the treehouse in Balian Beach was the most relaxing way to finish of our holiday as this place still holds what Bali is all about. Beautiful food, people and culture. Will definitely be back and can’t stop telling our friends all about the treehouse. Coolest place to chill out,’ said one woman.

Identifying a new trend of ‘Wish List Wanderlust’, Airbnb users are daydreaming about the day when they can travel again to far flung places – storing the properties that capture their imagination in their wish list boards.

‘Aussies are dreaming about the far-flung destinations they can experience when international travel is once again on the cards,’ Susan Wheeldon, Airbnb Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand said.

‘Not surprisingly, exotic locations and unique listings – such as tree houses, cabins, miniature homes and farm stays – are all highly sought after.’
