Tanonga Luxury Eco-Lodge in Charlton Gully, on the southern end of the Eyre Peninsula, just over seven hours’ drive from Adelaide, SA, has been specially designed as a unique place to ‘enhance and enjoy nature’.

Set close to a native forest, Ridge Lodge boasts opulent features including a Japanese-style bathtub, strategically positioned to allow guests to take in sweeping views of the surrounding 96-hectare estate while they soak.

The lodge – which sleeps two, perfect for couples – is made from sustainable materials and flanked by over 25,000 native trees, shrubs, and grasses, replanted to recreate the sugar gum woodlands that once dominated the landscape. 

Fitted with luxuries such as a king-size bed, woodfire combustion heater and a home entertainment system, the house is available to book from $330 (AUD) per night through Tourism South Australia.

Thoughtful extras include a coffee machine, washing machine and full self-catering kitchen where visitors can cook up a storm.

There’s also a fold out double sofa bed and a single roll-out bed to accommodate a maximum of two extra guests.
