ITV enjoys its highest daytime ratings in 11 YEARS as record numbers tune in to Good Morning Britain, This Morning, Lorraine and Loose Women

ITV bosses will be popping champagne after the station enjoyed its highest ever daytime ratings on Tuesday.

Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women all achieved their biggest share of viewing since 2009 with an overall share of 25.3 per cent across the morning, marking an 11-year high. 

This Morning, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, had its highest share since 2013 while Lorraine had its second highest share of viewing.

Good Morning Britain enjoyed a 25.4 per cent share, with the programme drawing an average of 929,000 overnight viewers, peaking at 1.4 million.

Presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have seen their ratings steadily climb during lockdown following Piers’ hard-hitting interviews with members of parliament.   

The show is directly followed by Lorraine at 9am, with host Lorraine Kelly achieving a share of 25.8 per cent. 

Tuesday’s episode of the show was watched by 1.3 million overnight viewers, with a peak of 1.4 million.

This winning streak then continued into This Morning at 10am, which drew a 29.1 per cent share of viewing. 

It was the highest share since 2013, excluding the Royal Wedding of Princess Eugenie of York in October 2018, which aired as a This Morning special. 

The episode was watched by an average of 1.5 million overnight viewers, peaking at 1.6 million.

Loose Women then rounded out the record run with a 18 per cent share between 12:30 and 13:29, its highest share since February 2019. 

1.3 million overnight viewers tuned in to watch the episode while the chat show had a peak of 1.4 million.
