Ivanka Trump tells Marco Rubio she WON’T run against him for his Florida Senate seat

BREAKING NEWS: Ivanka Trump tells Marco Rubio she WON’T run against him for his Florida Senate seat despite moving to Miami after father’s defeat

Ivanka Trump has told Republican Senator Marco Rubio that she won’t challenge him for his Florida Senate seat in next year’s GOP primary.

The former first daughter is living in Miami with her husband Jared Kushner and their three children. There has been speculation she will launch a political career of her own after serving for four years in her father’s White House.

Florida would be the likely location given her residency there. Her father, former President Donald Trump, is also a residence of the state, living at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach.

Rubio is up for re-election in 2022 and a challenge from the former president’s daughter could have torn apart the party as it struggles to determine how the Trump family will fit into the GOP.

Ivanka reached out to Rubio to tell him she won’t challenge him, his office told DailyMail.com.

The two are also discussing holding an event together in Florida in the next few months on their expansion of the Child Tax Credit, an issue she worked on when she served as a White House adviser.

‘I can confirm that Marco and Ivanka did speak a few weeks ago. Ivanka offered her support for Marco’s reelection and they had a great talk,’ Nick Iacovella, a spokesman for Rubio, told DailyMail.com.

‘I can also confirm that we are discussing a joint event to highlight Marco and Ivanka’s successful push to expand the Child Tax Credit,’ he added.

An appearance by Rubio and Trump together would be seen as her endorsement of the two-term senator, who is favored to win re-election.

The New York Times first reported the two’s conversation.

Ivanka Trump’s decision comes as her sister-in-law Lara Trump, has been mulling a Senate bid in her native North Carolina.
