Jennifer Lopez proves she’s still Jenny From The Block as she hitches a ride on the subway in an epic ensemble ahead of her NYE performance

Her debut album On The 6 was named after the New York City Subway line she rode to Manhattan to work in her pre-fame days.

And Jennifer Lopez was back On The 6 for wholly different reasons on Thursday as she headed to her performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC.

The Jenny From The Block singer, 51, looked phenomenal in a frothy tulle skirt with a structured Balmain blazer as she larked around on the subway, where the entire train was littered with posters for her JLo Beauty line.

Jennifer shared a stunning video showing her strutting through the secluded train carriage while sporting the dazzling get-up for the outing.

She added a caption on the video reading: ‘Last night was so surreal!!!! I was riding the 6 and S trains to Times Square for a lil video we did for the show tonight. The whole train had all the #JLOBEAUTY posters …

‘And I was overwhelmed thinking about that lil girl who used to read magazines on that very same train!! It was a moment where I felt so incredibly grateful for this this journey and all of you!!…

‘I know this year was one of the toughest ever … but dream on … dreams happen every day I cannot wait for all the possibilities and opportunities that await us in. #HappyNewYear my #Jlovers!!!!! #BTS @jlobeauty #JLOBEAUTY’.

Later in the night, Jennifer performed just before the midnight crystal ball drop after a video showed her in a beautiful blue Balmain gown.

J-Lo towered on a stage in an all-white, multi-tiered dress with a Valentino crystal ball-style full headpiece for her performance.

She belted out her new song In The Morning released in November and whipped off her jacket revealing a white pantsuit with big shoulders.

‘How y’all feeling?,’ she asked after singing the song that was viewed live in-person only by cast, crew and some frontline workers invited to the New York City celebration held amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

‘Seventeen minutes, 2020 is almost over! We made it! We made it,’ Jennifer said.

She recalled performing earlier this year in front of tens of thousands at the Super Bowl in February and told viewers that this New Year’s Eve celebration was happening ‘a little differently’.

‘And that’s okay. If this year taught us anything, it taught us to be grateful for what we do have and to cherish every moment. We lost too many. Too many to take one moment for granted,’ Jennifer said emotionally.

Rocking out: J-Lo showed her inner rocker as pyrotechnics exploded behind her and she tossed her microphone stand to the ground. 'Let's go, come on!,' she shouted before taking on the song's tremendous high notes

‘So tonight, we’re gonna live, we gonna love and we’re gonna dance again. And we’re gonna keep on dreaming,’ she added with an upbeat attitude.

Jennifer then noted that her next song she first sang 20 years ago and that it was never needed more than now.

She then delivered a tender rendition of Waiting For Tonight that morphed into a wild version of Dream On by Aerosmith.
