Hollie Doyle, who became the first British female jockey to ride five winners on a card at Windsor in August, repeated the feat with a sparkling 2,522-1 five-timer at Kempton on Wednesday night.

Doyle’s quintet of successes included Charlie Appleby-trained Highland Avenue in the ‘Road To The Kentucky Derby’ Conditions Stakes. Her other winners were on Della Mare, Madrinho, Laos and Sir Titan.

Doyle’s mount in the final race, Chinese Whisperer, was backed to be favourite and looked likely to win before fading in the last 50 yards to finish fourth.

Meanwhile, GIMCRACK STAKES winner Minzaal, a Commonwealth Cup contender at Royal Ascot for trainer Owen Burrows, will miss the first part of the season after surgery on a leg injury.

He sustained the injury while in his box. Burrows said: ‘Whether or not he’ll make Ascot will be determined by how he progresses now.’
