Yellowstone actor Josh Lucas said he is more than willing to film a sequel to the 2002 movie Sweet Home Alabama, which also starred Reese Witherspoon.
The 51-year-old actor has been lobbying for Witherspoon, 46, to make a sequel for the film, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary next September.
While talking with Entertainment Tonight earlier this week Lucas said, ‘I would love to. I’ve campaigned for her. I’m not gonna say that she’s the problem, but I think part of it is that Reese is so busy.’

‘I really believe that — I’m assuming, I hope — she wants to be part of it. Carving out that piece of her life isn’t so easy for her. I don’t have the same responsibilities or time constraints, so I hope that she could find a time to do it. I’ll be there tomorrow,’ he said.
Since the original movie was made, Witherspoon has started her production company, Hello Sunshine, and has created several films and TV shows, including Big Little Lies.
Reese – whose next film is Your Place Or Mine with Ashton Kutcher – has also started her own fashion and accessories line called Draper James which has been so successful it is now worth more than $300 million.
In addition to producing films and being a mom, Reese is known for introducing a Christmas line every year.

In November, Reese spoke to ET and hinted at the possibility of coming back to play the character of Melanie Smooter.
The mother-of-three said it was magical to film the scene inside Tiffany’s jewelry store, which she was reminded of when she filmed her new film, Something From Tiffany’s.
‘I think I was like, 24 years old, and it was a night shoot, so we were up all night. And they had closed down the whole store. So, we were allowed to walk around and look at all the jewelry, everything,’ she told Entertainment Tonight in November. ‘It was just magical. It was very magical.’

What Lucas is doing now: The episode titled Tall Drink of Water opened with a flashback with young John Dutton (Josh Lucas) then just a commissioner dealing with the then-governor officials and an angry community about the repercussions of Canadian imported wolves being set free in their land
The plot of the famous movie follows Witherspoon’s character on her trip home from New York City to Alabama, where she asks her husband Jake, played by Lucas, but he refuses to grant one.
Years earlier, Melanie had left her small-town life for the big city of New York, where she achieved success in a new career as a fashion designer and fell in love with a man named Andrew, played by Patrick Dempsey.
She eagerly wants her divorce in Alabama, which she had been seeking for seven years to get remarried.
Since the release of Sweet Home Alabama nearly 20 years ago, Reese has gone on to become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
She achieved superstar status following Legally Blonde, and in 2006 won an Oscar for Walk The Line.
She now stars opposite Jennifer Aniston in The Morning Show.
