Judge Robert Rinder launches public appeal via Twitter after his AirPods were stolen as he offers reward for their return

He’s known for solving the legal battles of others in the courtroom.

But Judge Robert Rinder faced his own battle on Monday, as his Apple AirPods went missing, ending up at another side of London to where he last saw them.

The barrister, 43, launched a public appeal to retrieve his earphones, which typically cost upwards of £100, taking to Twitter to offer a reward and no charges being pressed.

He also explained that the AirPods had made their way from where he last saw them in Central London to around 20 minutes across town, near Hermitage Street.

In a now deleted tweet, Robert sarcastically quipped: ‘To the kind person who has accidentally picked up my AirPods and (inadvertently assuming they are the true owners) taken them from central London to near Hermitage St W2 

‘Please return them for a reward .. and an undertaking not to proceed for theft by finding. and thanks’

The judge recently hit headlines after travelling to war-torn Ukraine to retrieve his Strictly Come Dancing partner, Oskana Platero’s, disabled grandparents at the border – after they had to flee their home following the Russian invasion.

Robert and Oksana reached the quarter-final stage of Strictly, when they competed together in 2016.

And announcing that he was making the trip, Robert tweeted: ‘Oksana Platero my Ukrainian dance partner on @bbcstrictly gifted me so much. Right now her grandparents are a week into their struggle to find sanctuary in a safe country. 

‘I’ll be trying to meet them on the border next week. They’re just a few of the millions who need us.’

Upon retrieving them, he took to Instagram to share sweet snaps as they hugged, also seeing Oskana’s aunt.
